I will be premiering my new body of work at the NAWA Gallery in NYC from December 9, 2015 until January 5, 2016. Opening reception will be on December 10 at 5 p.m.   I will be exhibiting with artist Margarita Berg from NY.

Surreal Portrait Workshop-Acrylics

November 14 (One-day workshop)

Saturday: 10:30-5:30 PM (1/2 hour break)

$85members / $95 non-members

Course limited to 10 students 

Ages: 17 and up

Student will learn to loosen up on the traditional training of creating a portrait and accomplish a more personal style. The painting will progress in layers and the finished painting will have a unique luminosity and a sense of depth.

List of Materials: 

-Palette knife

-Rounded brushes #0#2 #4 #8 

-1 Stretched canvas-no smaller than 24”x18”

-Portrait photo references with good light and contrast.

-Slow dry gloss medium

-Basic colors to have for the class:

Titanium White

Burnt Sienna

Burnt Umber

Ultramarine Blue

Lemon Yellow

Yellow Ochre

Cadmium Yellow

Cadmium Red

Mars or Ivory Black

*Note for more experienced painters: feel free to bring the colors and brushes of your choice.

Fees must be pay by November 9 in order to reserve your space in the class.

This is the invitation for our two-person show at the National Association of Women Artists (N.A.W.A) in New York City opening on Thursday, December 10, 2015. I'll be exhibiting my work along with artist Margarita Berg.  Please join us if you're in town. Opening reception starts at 5 p.m. Exhibition will run until January 5, 2016. We hope you can join us!

These are giclee prints of my original oil paintings, sizes 8"×8" and 10"×10" printed in Etson white paper, 100% cotton, 340 gsm. All prints signed by me. They will be available October 16th at Jardin del Arte in Edinburg, TX.
